i’m posting this because i think it needs to be said, ok
this happens so often. no matter where i go on the internet there seems to be this general surprise when i show my face. people are always ‘woah you’re black? i never would have known, you write so well, you’re so well spoken, you’re so polite and sweet, i can’t believe it!!! who taught you to use the computer?’
and i am. sick of it.
poc’s get marginalized and pushed to the fringes and it sucks that even online people don’t even think we’re a factor. like that person with great content and writing and characterization?? is of color? impossible.
